"Brilliant writing about palaeontology and evolution, with great daily wildlife photos." - The Times of London
"Among many good blogs on evolutionary biology, two stand out. One is “Laelaps” (http://scienceblogs.com/laelaps/), the blog of Brian Switek ... which covers not only paleontology but also broader issues in evolutionary biology and the philosophy of science" – In Why Evolution is True by Jerry Coyne
PLoS One "Blog Pick of the Month" for May 2010
Since its launch on WordPress in December 2006, Laelaps has acted as Brian's online writing laboratory. Just last spring it was called one of the "Top 30 Science Blogs" by the London Times, and after being part of the vibrant ScienceBlogs.com community from October of 2007 through July of 2010, Laelaps has moved to the new WIRED Science blog network where Brian continues to write about evolution, the fossil record, the the quirks of scientific discovery.
From the latest scientific research to the worst dinosaur films of all time, Brian has been covering all things dinosaur for Smithsonian magazine's "Dinosaur Tracking" blog since October of 2008.
